I admit it, as a political science student, I did not spend nearly enough time studying our Constitution. In all honesty, after reading it start to finish a couple of times both in highschool and college, I took for granted what it provided "the people". With our Federal Government pushing for more and more control everyday to "protect the people", I was forced to go back to our Constitution and even our Declaration of Independence.
I believe it was once written "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." I also remember "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."
Either of these sound familiar to you? Hope they do... because our Federal government is slowly but surely phasing these out new Federal programs.
Remember, your unalienable rights are provided by YOUR CREATOR, not the Federal government. Your choice of creator, and your rights. Not the "nanny state", but your own personal beliefs and choices. The only thing our Federal government is there for is to protect the Republic. To maintain your rights to Life, Liberty, and the PUSUIT of Happiness!
Our nation has the upper hand because of these very principles. If you want all of this change, then please give me a reasonable argument against these documents! If not, then do your job to help preserve them for future generations of Americans, so that they might too, realize the American Dream "one of opportunity!"
